Accused spy on trial in Kerman

The head of the Kerman Revolutionary Court reported on August 5 that the Ministry of Intelligence has arrested a spy in Kerman, and the suspect is currently being prosecuted

The report published by the Mehr and Fars news agencies indicates that the detained individual was in contact with “an Israeli agent.”

The court reports that the individual was involved in trade with Southeast Asian countries, and on his latest trip to Thailand, the suspect reportedly passed on information to the Israeli agent.

The report adds that the trial is now in progress, and an espionage conviction could carry the death penalty.
